Hi, I’m Shannon, Registered Social Worker and the founder of GRAY SPACE THERAPY SERVICES.
I have 10 years of experience supporting adults of many different backgrounds through anxiety, emotion regulation difficulties and trauma. My career began working with individuals involved within the justice system and has spanned working in Indigenous and Métis communities in northern Alberta, with chronic pain, substance dependency, with neurodivergent young adults and students, individuals with personality disorders, folks struggling with OCD, survivors of childhood adversity or trauma, as well as with active military members, veterans and first responders.
If you’re just beginning your therapy journey, I tend to use a more structured therapy approach to make sure we cover all our bases and that you’re leaving sessions with practical strategies to help you reach your goals. If you’re more looking more to maintain your current mental health and have a safe space to check-in, I can help with that too!

To make sure we’re the right fit for you, we offer a free 15 minute phone consultation.

Individual Therapy
Individual therapy offers a supportive dedicated space to anyone navigating emotional challenges or simply seeking greater understanding and balance in life. Some of the issues we commonly explore in therapy include:
- Managing intense emotions
- Maintaining wellness and productivity or life goals
- Managing and overcoming anxiety
- Assertive communication skills
- Coping with relationships
- Coping with stress, burnout or work-life balance
- Sleep and Nightmare Problems
- Coping with chronic pain

OCD Treatment
It’s completely natural to want reassurance when a thought feels alarming or uncomfortable. With OCD, seeking reassurance—whether through asking questions, googling, or mentally double-checking—can actually keep the cycle going. It may bring short-term relief, but the doubt usually returns, making the thoughts feel even more important or dangerous.
This is why traditional talk therapy isn’t usually enough for OCD and can often unintentionally reinforce symptoms. Without the right approach, progress can feel slow or confusing.
At Gray Space Therapy Services, we use evidence-based OCD treatments like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT) to help you break free from the cycle of OCD. These therapies focus on helping you build trust in yourself, reducing compulsions, and feel more confident navigating uncertainty.

PTSD Treatment
We support individuals coping with both PTSD and complex trauma (C-PTSD). Trauma therapy provides a safe, supportive space to process what you’ve been through—at a pace that feels right for you. The goal isn’t to forget the past, but to reduce how upsetting the memory feels, and understand it in a way that brings relief and helps you move forward.
Trauma can shift how you see yourself, others, and the world. It may affect sleep, focus, mood, or leave you feeling on edge or stuck in painful patterns. In therapy, we explore your trauma-related experiences and the beliefs or patterns that formed around them. With time, you can begin to feel more at ease—and reconnect with yourself and those important to you.
You will be provided with information, including possible risks and benefits of treatment, and receive help selecting the best option to meet your needs. We offer the most up-to-date, researched trauma treatments available.
